In Hong Kong two DOP250 submersible dredge pumps are contributing to the Macau-Hong Kong-Zhu Hai link project. The project, aiming to establish a new land transport link between the east and west banks of the Pearl River Estuary, includes the construction of a 6.7 km long tunnel. Before the tunnel elements can be placed, the seabed was levelled and a gravel bed was prepared.

The DOP250s are being mounted together on the common discharge line.
Due to the tides silt partly covers the gravel beds, and the DOP250s remove this silt. Rigidly mounted under a jack-up platform, two submersible dredge pumps work together pumping the silt away and clearing the sea bed. Due to the rigid mount under the jack-up platform and making use of Damen dredging instrumentation, dredging can be done very accurately. This set up can also continue working in harsh weather conditions.

Easy positioning with high accuracy due to the mounting of the dredge pumps under the jack-up platform
