A DOP150 has started a dredging job, cleaning a stretch of coast line. At the Port of San Juan del Sur, on Nicaragua’s Pacific Coast, the state port authority Empresa Portuaria Nacional, will improve the accessibility of tourists arriving in small tender boats from the cruise vessels laying anchor in the bay.

Sediment is removed to enable the port authorities to construct a floating modular dock. This dock will be a safer and more practical mooring location for the tourist tenders. A contact flow of tourists arrives at San Juan visiting the village itself located on a by known for its natural beauty, or day tripping to Lake Nicaragua.

The DOP150 is equipped with a cutter unit, and has been attached to a crane. The DOP submersible dredge pump will clean the area and discharges the dredged mixture about 100 m further in the bay. Damen delivered a dredging package including the DOP150 with cutter unit, hydraulic hoses, as well as discharge piping for the dredged mixture.
